some photos!
Well, I am still running around doing paperwork. This is round two for me since I had the pleasure of doing it all last year. This time I am getting the hang of it and expecting it to be tedious! So far, so good...I have as many of my ducks as I can get all in a row and so I am feeling pretty good to go out and have fun on the town since we are in PARIS!
so here are some pictures.
Rewind....
here is a lovely photo of one of my favorite places to visit while back home.

Yes, this is the Santa Monica pier. I love Santa Monica as well. Hi Andrew, Marcel, Gwen, Ke Tan and Arousha!
Here is one of my new favorite places to hang out in Paris: Breakfast in America.
A very cool little old-fashioned diner in Paris.
Here are Raphaël and Eli enjoying their kid's meal of chicken nuggets and fries on my first day back in Paris.

Here is Yaëlle enjoying her kid's meal.

Here are Joël, David and Elvira. I know the picture is too dark, but I couldn't change it before I uploaded it due to time sorry!

They got burgers and fries. Notice the American style mustard on the table and the sugar in the glass jar....Just like home sweet home!
It was fun to take a trip back to the US for a little while with the family that housed me last year. They are so sweet and we really enjoyed this diner adventure together.
Another fun place to visit is the covered walkways that wind through Paris. Here is one that I visited with Kyle and 2 of his classmates. There are old boutiques, antique shops and fun goodies to eat, look at (old pictures, stamps etc.), read, and wear. There are music shops, decor shops... you name it!
It is fun in the daytime as seen here and at night when lit up.

La Nuit Blanche.
Last Saturday, Kyle and I and his 2 friends decided to explore La Nuit Blanche...translation "an all-nighter". There were music and light parties all over Paris. We chose to go see this guy who is capapble of playing "300" guitars at once somehow. We ended up missing the concert since they moved it inside the Sacré Coeur Basilica and the line to get in was enormous!
But, it was well worth seeing the Basilica all lit up as you see here. I had to do a long exposure and since there were people walking around everywhere, I couldn't get a clean shot. There were plastic coloured flags up and they shined light on them and through them to make for a fantastic light show.

Now, the plastic flags I mentioned from the above picture are now in the background of this shot... this is the coffee stand just below the Basilica. The plastic flags are actually the transparent red looking lights shining up above the tents.

As you can see, it was a very colourful night. We had fun and met a lot of tourists that were lost walking around...like us trying to find the night buses home. Kyle and I got home around 4:30 after cramming ourselves in a sardine can (a night bus). Honestly it was so packed I ended up semi-sitting on some Russian guy's lap at one point! I tried to open a window but due to the air pressure/temp.? I couldn't. A man pulled hard on another one and got that one open and then I could open mine so we had some sort of relief. We were all talking to each other trying to find our stops since we couldn't see very well outside the fogged up windows nor over the heads of the passengers!
Must run. I have been having to get up around 5:30 to go to workshops outside of Paris for my teaching job. Hope you are all well!
bisous from Paris!

That photo of the covered walkway is really cool!
I don't think I've ever been to Santa Monica pier, but from a distance, it looks like a lot of fun. Maybe I'll have to go some time.
