La Normandie!
Bonjour y'all!
I haven't posted for a while because I went to Normandy for the weekend. My cousin, Chris, on my dad's side, took me with his wife to Normandy. The first night the cows mooed outside my window all night. They were just making sure I felt welcome I'm sure and didn't mean to deprive me of my sleep. The next night they left me alone and let me sleep!
We had a whirlwind weekend and it was a blast! It was beautiful! Normandy is everything people make it out to be....rolling hillsides...cows...good cheese and butter...Calvados...Apple Cider (the kind that warms you up on a cold night)...the beaches ...great hospitality.
We visited Omaha, Utah, Juno and other beaches famous for D-Day and the Pegasus Bridge. I saw the Church in Sainte Mère Eglise shown in the film "The Longest Day" where the parachutist got caught on the belfry during the invasion and consequently lived to tell the story.
I took lots of pictures and as soon as I can sort them out...they will be posted.
I also got to visit the town of Caen and see my cousin and his wife's stomping grounds. Again, very beautiful! Then to top it all off the Mont Saint Michel! It was breathtaking! The sun hit the island as we drove into the bay and it was just gorgeous! There is this restaurant famous for it's omelettes. Famous people from all over come to eat these omelettes which are ENORMOUS! They have pictures on the walls showing the famous people with their signatures just like Hard Rock Cafe or Pink's!
We walked up inside the island and then around it since it was low-tide. I didn't want to leave it was just so amazing. We had to leave before the tide rushed in so I missed observing the tide that runs as fast as a galloping horse, but there is time and I can't wait to go back!
have to run!
love to all

Jealousy, jealousy.
All that happens around here much is that the rain cleans out the sky. I really need to think about whether I can live in the concrete all my life.
