Strike news
So the last time I wrote there was a train strike, well I ran to the bustop and there were no buses either so I had to wait for a train and got the next one out. We have had school strikes, bus strikes, train strikes, metro strikes....and no the school strikes don't affect my classes because the teachers decided to press on and stay in school! So I got to wake up early and ride 1 of 2 trains out of normally 20+ trains direction Paris and then learn the bus route back. It was interesting! The Parisians talk to each other when there is a strike because everyone is antsy and a little worried about just exactly which train/bus is going to get you to where you want to go and back hopefully with a place to sit down! Otherwise we are all crammed like sardines and can't even answer a cell phone if it rings. Pretty funny when you have 100 different ring tones and they keep going because people can't get to them. Some are dance tunes and then you want to dance! but obviously can't!
well have to run to the bus for school
no strike today!
yippee!
love from Paris!

Hi Grace ,
How you doing? This is DRS frm maryland and I'm working today :(
There's obviously a different thing going on in the French political arena than in the American one. We have a big strike every few years, maybe. California had the grocery strike in 2003-4 (although all the stores stayed open) and UPS had a strike hit it in about 1999.
Those French strikes are so famous that even I've heard of them. Why do they happen so often?
